I Love My Hair is amazingly illustrated.  I wish I had a book like this when I was younger.  It shows that bond between mom and daughter during hair time, pain and all.  I love how it celebrates the beauty and versatility of black hair.  I wanted more pages.  So sad to see book end.

Metaphors, similes, and illustrations that really showcase diversity and black haircare. The illustrations really displayed the similes well (gardens of braids, globe afro, pigtails were butterflies, etc). Shares several reasons that black boys and girls should be proud of their hair and all of the things that they can do with it.

Read to me on bookmarks. Fresh illustrations and age appropriate words show this slice of a little girls life. And then Tiffany Haddish shows off her scalp! As a hair challenged woman/mom/aunt I appreciate the skill involved.

Love the illustrations - the cover particularly, and the scene of the little girl in between her mother's legs, arms resting on mom's knees as her hair is combed - that scene brought back memories and I think transcends different cultures.
