A bit more fast paced and a lot more acrion happening. More introductory, but still doesn’t make that much sense. Ended on a cliffhanger. Has accurate representation of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This is more a review for the entire series. This was the equivalent to watching reality TV - which we know isn't good television but you can't look away from. Found=family/poly relationship. It's ok for smut just to be smut - but this book was trying to be a plot-heavy story when it has no business being a plot-heavy story. Tell me where there are/is a secret society, hit-men, sabotage, private investigators, drug-dealers seeking revenged, blackmail... this was trying to be too much.

Henley, Fletcher, Dax and Reed. Second book in this series was good - it’s nice to see the development of their little unit. I think it’s a cute touch how so many other polycules exist in their world, really normalizing their arrangement. This book is intense tho - all the shit with Carol (Henley’s mom), The Society, Dax’s past - it’s just a lot and stresses me out. It does make for a really good plot though. The grammar was mostly good, a couple of editing mistakes. Excited to see how it’s all wrapped up but I might need a bit of a palate cleanser in between installments.
