I feel through too many plot holes and couldn’t find my way out.

The second installment in the Cursebreakers series...this time from the perspectives of Grey and Lia Mara.

While the plot and writing was superb, I was disappointed with some of the character development and some of the plot twists added.

I really really really wanted to like this book! I LOVED A Curse So Dark and Lonely so I thought that I would like this one just as much. While I enjoyed getting to know Grey more as a character this book felt a little like a place holder for the next book in the series. I loved the female lead in this book she was very different from the female lead in A Curse so that was refreshing. Overall I still liked the book but I didn’t race through it like I did the first book. Looking forward to the third book and the tying together of these two stories! After re-reading this book in anticipation of the third and final book in the series I would agree with and echo my original review. I really didn’t like Rhen’s character development in this book. While I understand he is afraid I’m just very thrown by his progression into apparent cruelty.

Oh my god! It was so good!! A bit of a slow start but a mighty finish! I can't wait for the third installment! My copy arrives Tuesday and I can't wait to just get my hands on it! I'm loving this series so much!

This was really disappointing.

Grey is one of my favorite characters in the “Cursebreakers” series and he was one of the main characters in this one.

Most of the disappointment for me was my annoyance at Lia Mara. I found her to be pushy and hypocritical at times. She’s just the stereotypical YA Fantasy girl but with more annoying twists. Argh. She grated on my nerves

Throughout the book I kept thinking that she would be so much better just as a friend to Grey and everyone than anything else. Their relationship just was awkward and didn’t match up to Grey’s established personality.

The writing seem sloppily done for Kemmerer. Her other books are more eloquent and thought out but this one just felt like a rush job. Sometimes there were descriptions, other times there weren’t any. I don’t even know how some of the characters look.

I could barely tell what fairytale this one was. It was Rapunzel. It seemed like Grimm’s original one in some parts and Tangled in others.

My favorite parts of the book were the parts where Lia Mara wasn’t included but especially the ending. It is killer.

Drudged through this. Hope I’ll find something better soon!

I loved this book!!! I even loved it more than the first book.
If you read my review to book one you know that Grey was always my front runner and I liked him more than Rhen. So that alone was great but for the book to be so fucking epic was even better.
It had me swooning and crying, happy, and sad tears. I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. Like last book we get a lot of twist and turns and surprises which I enjoyed. But I think what I enjoyed the most, besides Grey was, that we get the world expanded. We learn so much more about Emberfall and neighboring kingdoms and customs.
We don’t get much if Harper and Rhen , which for Rhen is good, I really, really hated him this book, even at the end of it all . Harper stayed true to her character.
I loved the relationship Grey and Jake had, and how it progressed to get there. I also enjoyed Tycho a lot.
Lia Mara was fantastic as well, I really liked her from the beginning and she really, really is the perfect match for Grey.
Overall epic book, better than book one, The ending…. Some things I saw coming a mile ahead other things really took me by surprises. The ending was torture and I can’t believe we have to wait till the end of 2021(according to GR) for the next book.
I rate this also a full 5★
