Here is a book that pours gallons of blood on you without apology. And yet leaves room to feel sympathy, and disgust, hope, and unrelenting bloodlust for the characters painted in each story. There are four, each with their own specific voice, and each with their own lifting of dread.
While the pages are soaked in blood, that isn't to say that it is just blood for the sake of blood. Each story is constructed beautifully to match the outcome, and detailed in ways that allows the reader to understand everything. In some of the stories, he gives the full horror of the blood letting, and in others he leaves it to the imagination of the reader. Each story is handled with care as though they are built from their own and not forced to fit a certain style.

Damn... when I picked this up I obviously missed the hardcore part of the horror in the description because when Special Delivery hit its stride I was more than a little surprised. It's been several weeks and I can still remember the climax of that tale and that should tell you how affecting the story is. The other stories in the collection are pretty good as well and not as shocking but definitely not slouches either. I liked how the author took the singular concept and attacked it from several different directions in different ways. It was a pretty short read overall that I spread out on my own being that I had it on my phone's kindle app and haven't read a whole lot on there but definitely worth the time that I read it and I would be looking forward to finding other works by the author to read.
