Clearly written for kids, but, it haves some nice background information and beautiful photographs and stills from Doctor Who.

Glossy and goodlooking. It covers over 200 characters, so by necessity each individual entry is fairly superficial - but it does showcase the sheer mad imagination of Doctor Who, which has always been the show's greatest strength.

It's a good quick reference, but it's definitely not something to spend money on when things like Tardis Wiki exist.

This is a really fun book and the entries aren't just on modern Who, so that's a nice feature.

It's obviously geared towards children, but (just like the show) it is still enjoyable for an adult to read. However, that means that the entries aren't exactly groundbreaking, nor are they particularly complex. If you are looking for in-depth analysis and detailed histories, I'm afraid you need to look elsewhere.

Still, it's cute and fun and nerdy so it gets 3.5 stars :)
