I love books like this that are written with great sensitivity, where we can range from feelings of euphoria to bittersweetness through our multi-layered examination of the past. The past that feels like a different country. The book does have a predictable plot, but it's short and sweet and well-executed. The translation also flows so well, and coming from some clunkiness from other translated works, this was read like a dream. An emotional and quiet look into a man's memories of first love, with all the messiness, jealousies, anxieties of two people who are aware of their differences in life and in their futures. Purchase worthy?

The characters didn’t feel fully fleshed out to me, but the ending did hurt.. ouch
