Thanks for letting me borrow this, Alissa! A short read, and now I feel like I need to reread Kingkiller Chronicles for better context, Slow Regard is a strange sweet peek into Auri's life in the Underthing. The illustrations remind me of Coraline somewhat (another short strange tale).

I really enjoyed this book, it was very different to what I thought at the start. But it reads like poetry and you feel such strong connections to even inanimate objects it is easily one of the best books I have read this year.
Many thanks yet again Patrick Rothfuss

Very unique and weird, if you don't want to read it it will provide no insight into the series, but it's a very unique book which only takes a couple hours to read

I've been waiting my whole life for a story like this. A story that confuses me in the best sorts of ways. Thank you Pat Rothfuss for filling me with wonder and curiosity. Most of all, thank you for writing a story for all the slightly broken people.

Magical and pure. It changes the way I see the world and all the silent things in it.

I really enjoyed this short story!!!! Auri shines so bright in this, and even though it’s exclusively 3rd person, the entire book feels like i’m viewing Auri’s world from her eyes. So many things aren’t over-explained, and that’s okay - i love how we got a fuller view of her life without giving away too much at all. I have nothing but good things to say about this book!!!!!

I love Auri, and witnessing a week in her life totally made me smile. She's a little odd, but I like that. I love her voice and her OCD and her brokenness and her secrets. And I LOVE the gifts she chose for Kvothe.
