Really cool idea and some of the pages are awesome but the white liberal cisnormative shit was kind of irritating. Also I didn’t care about the plot or characters at all.

Very similar in style and story to Bitch Planet, but geared towards a younger audience.

I enjoy the concept of this series but feel like instead of the themes and concepts of feminism and toxic masculinity being built up and weaved in they are fairly heavy handed which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I don’t love it.
I am looking to continue this series as I liked the mixed media aspects and think I could like where the series is leading to.

Oh. My. God. I loved this. I cannot wait to read the second, third, fourth, etc. volumes of this comic series because it just hits the nail on the head. When tween Maude gets her period at the same time giant women-turned-cats begin attacking Portland neighborhoods, she fears that it is she who is turning into one of those murderous felines. In a world transformed by fear of women, men and boys need safe spaces, have magazines geared towards keeping them safe at night, and learn to analyze a woman at first sight to make sure she’s not a threat. In other words, this comic series is fucking hilarious. With bright and vivacious guerilla- and zine-style illustrations and a riveting plotline, this makes for an absolutely fantastic comic series.
I tend to shy away from media that tries to spin sexism on its head, shy away from media that goes “in a world where women are oppressive and men are oppressed…”, but this comic does it so flawlessly well. I can’t wait to delve more into it now that we have some exposition–I want to know more about the task force, more about Maude’s parents’ divorce, the hormones in the water, the absolute segregation of everything male and female. It’s just so good and funny and an absolute riot. Definitely worth reading, and great for the tween who’s getting interested in feminism and activism. It’s a little murdery, but worth it.

I was having fun with the comic, but it doesn’t sound like writer is good to support :(
