I love the pop culture references and the zombs, but this instalment wasn't as great and the ending was a bit meh, also quite predictable in places.

I enjoyed this series but confess to being startled and greatly saddened by the ending. I really wasn't expecting what happened ...

Very well-written and entertaining zombie series.

hard to get into, but it was the 3rd book of the series, so that might have been why

I probably should have read a summary of the previous two books because there was a large gap between reading them and this. However, the narrative supplied enough details that I wasn't 100% lost. This was a quick and fun read. Ashley still kicks ass and takes names but the side characters take a back seat to her so they aren't as developed. I was left a little disappointed in the resolution at the end but it was a good ending. I found it really easy to identify with Lil so I was pleased with her story resolution.

I finished the series and up until this book I legit felt like Turk making the 'I Don't Know' sound. Usually timelines don't bother me but that's probably cause all the books I've read have been good so far. This one... uh the timeline was messy. The author clearly tried to make jokes that were relevant at the time. "You gonna tell someone about Mister Fifty Shades of Asshat?" I researched this so dont judge me but that series didnt even get popular until 2012 and its assumed that the whole series takes place in 2011 september-october. i'm sorry that i know that fact. "He take Sharknado(...)" Sharknado came out in 2013 (i watched the movie oh lord). Then that part of the book where JT 'twerked like Miley Cyrus' bruh white people didnt even find out about 'twerking' until 2013 lmaoooo. anyways, a timeline needs to be consistent or else nobody is gonna believe your story or characters. Lilly's bipolar disorder came in the second book and came out of no where like... what. And when Ashley left Lilly that was ooc cause Ashley is like a big sister to Lilly and loves her to death so that was ?
Gabriel's death didn't hit me. I mean there was no point of him so bye gabriel.
The first book was fine, I mean it was funny and had plot.
Second book was just nothing and not even memorable. All I remember from book 2 is that Kai died and I'm still lowkey upset. he was legit the only poc in the entirety of the book that appeared more than twice.
Third book was a mess, nothing happened until the last 80 fuckin pages. Anyways, the whole series is a 2.5 (.5 for the first book) I lowkey wish the person that recommended this series didn't recommend it cause it was messy especially the last book. This a fucked review cause im writing this on my phone and my family and i are heading to Banff lmao. Just saying, anyone that gives this book a higher rating than 3 stars is lying to themselves.

Disappointing ending all around. The action was dragged out too long, to the point that I started skimming most of it. And all just so that the ending could be rushed. People who deserved to survive didn't and some, one in particular, who didn't, will live to see another day. I don't expect happy, happy endings in zombie apocalypse stories but this went beyond the pale. If there are more books I will not be reading them.

This is the third book in the Ashley Parker trilogy.

In one sense, the progression from Town --> Nation --> World in the trilogy is a bit too accelerated. While the zombie plague is worldwide, the scope of the novels are not.

In fact, I only gave this book 4 stars because after a while, it seemed more like a travelogue of Golden Gate Park and Balboa Park rather than zombie survival story.

The details about the pipe organ in Balboa Park (in the Organ Pavilion) were accurate. My mom was an organist and I was invited by the then organist at Emmanuel Faith Community Church up into the area where the pipes and the wind box was. Fascinating.

This novel was better edited (punctuation) than the previous novels.

Note that the Amazon name of this book mentions Ashley Parker but doesn't state that it's book 3 in the series.

I wish there were more books in this series and recommend it.
