I honestly found this painful to get through, it just dragged on!
I actually liked some of the things the book was trying to say, but I didn’t enjoy the way it was done - personally I think it should have been a lot more subtle.
And I think Nick’s character took a big step back in this book. In the two first books he was one of the only normal/rational/down to earth people, but his obsession with
keeping the house,
while I understand it was sentimental, and it was described as this heroic act? To me it just showed that he can be just as bad as everyone else… It is completely NORMAL
to sell a house after someone dies if you don’t have the means to keep it!

Anyways I actually really liked the epilogue, I think it was a nice ending with a good outcome for everyone:)

of the trilogy, i don't think it's the strongest book
it's fun to see more development of characters in the giant family tho

I really enjoyed this book but I’m also sad that it’s over! I’ve loved reading about the Young, T'sien and Shang families.

My favourite is still Astrid. But I also love Nicky and Ah Ma. I would’ve loved to find out more about Ah Ma’s past told from her perspective.

The only thing that bugged me was that the one character that had a mental illness was just brushed off as being psycho - I will admit that I did think they were really crazy but when you found out more about them, it did make sense and I started to sympathise.

I thought the ending was perfect; it wrapped up the series really well and all the characters got a satisfying ending.

Highly recommend this series for the wild lifestyles and gossipy characters.

This book is more than just a satire of the lifestyles of extremely rich people.   While the money and flash are strictly for the very wealthy, the drama of a family vying to inherit from a dying matriarch could be any family grieving while concerned about their own worth.

How is it possible that this book had even MORE drama than the last ones!? There were definitely some parts that were frustrating and emotional. It really shows you how awful some people can be? But wow did the ending make up for it! I absolutely loved the wrap up of the ending and was so happy to see how things turned out for a few characters! I couldn't believe how attached I got to some of these characters. Such a good ending to the trilogy!!
