I'm often more lenient with rating short stories than I am with longer books, and that's somewhat the case here. When reading short stories by the same author, I don't really consider the writing style - at least I try not to - but when it comes to rating the book, I have to consider the writing style.

In this case, I found that it was a little all over the place, which is a style that doesn't work for me. It's not badly written, just written in a way that isn't for me.

MONKEY TEASPOON DESIGN AGENCY

A rather confusing story, but it did a good job of setting the tone and worldbuilding of this book, so it worked.
And the story was funny, although embaracing

CRASH

Ah, I think I remember some of these characters from the first book!
Story in itself was ok

THE WAR CABINET MEETS

This one was, unfortunarly, a bit on the stupid side for me. I liked that it was written as a theater manuscript, though.

ADMIRAL SHERMAN SOLVES ANOTHER CASE

I remember very much enjoying the admiral, and I did in this story as well. The language at times felt a little reduntant, but other than that, it was a fun story

CRASH AGAIN!

Most of this short seemed like a lot of fluff and nonsense to me. TSTL characters and designes. I'm sure it was supposed to be funny, but either it missed the mark or I just wasn't in the right state of mind for British humour.

WELCOME TO AEROPA

This had an interesting story, if a little slow, and clearly builds up to something, which I'm looking forward to reading

3/5

THE BATTLE OF TURNIP FIELD

I'm sorry to say that this story was just too messy for me. The actual battle could have been interesting, but the constant digressions and the narrator/written voice took away everything that could have been good, and I was so bored, unfortunatly.

2/5

CRASH AGAIN (AGAIN)

This story started out intriguing and including, but after the midpoint it turned kind of dreary in its description. Then it picked up again, introducing new characters and advancing the plot!

3.5/5

A MARTIAN CALLS

I'm not sure what to think of this one. It felt a bit like fluff, but at the same time it was story-related, and the last part was entertaining enough.
So it was at "the middle of the tree", as we say here.

EAR-MOO B

I should probably have read this one sooner, as I found I'd forgotten a few details. Other than that, though, it was an enjoyable story. A lot happened, all with clear intent and reason, and that ending!
I wonder how things will go in vol 3!
