I have put this one off for too long, but I finally got around to it. And I loved it. I stand in awe of the way King draws the reader in. Stephen King does what all good writers do and that's care about what is going to happen next. But he goes beyond other writers in just making you want to enjoy the trip and have it never end. That is what makes him the best.

Stephen King is great at manipulating the reader's emotions. He makes you love the characters you are suppose to love and hate the ones you are suppose to hate. John Smith was a great lead character and like all King leads I understand why he does what he does, his reactions to events makes perfect rational sense. He is probably one of the greatest tragic characters King has ever wrote. He has an amazing talent, but you really sympathize with how it is really a curse. Most people think they would want to know the future, but after this book you may rethink that.

The only complaint I have is very minor, I want to say the book lost steam at the end, but that isn't true. In the end the great climax did not seem like such of a much, it is almost too abstract. But I don't regret a moment of this journey. I highly recommend it to everyone. The only reason why it doesn't get five stars is it is written by Stephen King and as good as the book was there are other King books that blow this one out of the water. If it was written by John Q. Public I would have given it five, and while that may be unfair believe me there are more Stephen King books I would give five stars to than any other author.
