This was one of my favorite books when I was little and I can now say with complete certainty that baby me had great taste. LOTR meets A Wrinkle in Time meets Japanese folk tales. -1 star because it is for children and I, unfortunately, am not a child. Nor am I a children’s book reviewer (although hey booklist if you need one, hmu because clearly I have the skills)
