There were lots of things i loved about this book. i liked the focus on mental health, identity, and the role of celebrity and paradoxical relationships. i liked that both leads had problems to overcome individually and together. the supporting characters were also handled well. sometimes the narrative could delve into too black and white, but still had enough contemplation to keep me engaged.
Graphic: Homophobia, Drug abuse, and Emotional abuse
Moderate: Drug use, Alcohol, and Addiction
Minor: Sexual content, Racism, and Suicide attempt

A fun sweet read!
I enjoyed this book and I really liked the relationship between the two leads. I also liked their friendship with their band mates. It had lots of funny, sweet moments, and emotional moments.
It wasn’t a very challenging reading and I wasn’t expecting that going in. But at times it felt like it wanted to have something to say about fame and media but I never really felt it did.I think for me their management team felt a bit too cartoonishly evil and all powerful yet very easily over come in the end. Everything felt like it was solved so easily at the end despite how much focus it got throughout the book. I would have preferred if their management team had been fine with them coming out and it was more about how to build a lasting relationship in the public eye. It also felt a little bit overly similar to the rumours about one direction and their management which I didn’t love. It could perhaps start some good conversations for teen readers about the constructed nature of celebrity. However, as an adult reader I think it felt to unrealistic for the point it was trying to make at times.
Still though a fun read would recommend for teen readers looking for a queer romance.

It's actually pretty cute. The romance is a bit eh but the boy band bit is cute.

I almost dnf'd this boon halfway because the writing was a lot of "tell" and not a lot of "show", I could barely tell the characters apart, and I was bored with the miscommunication trope. I powered through though and quite liked the ending. It's very obvious this book had a lot of good intentions, but the delivery was, ah, lacking

Couldn't put it down.
Lately is taking me forever to finish a book, but not this was, I was completely engrossed with the story of these four boys, and how the adults in their lives kept failing them. I couldn't stop until I found it if they were going to be ok.
