This was Brooke and Taushen’s story. I didn’t love this one, but it definitely wasn’t the worst one. I don’t like the whole miscommunication trope. And I really dislike how Brooke was constantly sending mixed signals and then getting mad at Taushen, but he wasn’t understanding her. She was very clear she wanted nothing to do with him and he was trying his best and then she started laying it real thick and was mad he wasn’t picking up what she was putting down. I spent the whole book annoyed with Brooke, but I guess it worked out in the end so onto the next one.

This wasn't my favorite. I just love the back story and the world building. But my goodness do I hate miscommunication tropes and characters that won't say what they want. Some might think it's yearning and a will they won't they but for me it felt like a whole book of it and it was getting old fast.
