Some classic sci fi is interesting, this book wasn't.

This story was not scary at all until Poe wrote in A Tale of the Ragged Mountains "...the writhing creese of the Malay." And I, taken aback by the sudden reference to Malay indignantly asking aloud what does Poe know about Malays, had to look up "creese" only to discover in HORROR that that's the Americans spelling for keris. Ya Allah. Astaghfirullah 'al azim. Jokes aside, I quite enjoyed this story especially the unexpected ending. I also learned about Charlottesville's poisonous sangsue which looks very similar to the leeches doctors used for the traditional bleeding process.

No suelen aburrirme los relatos de Poe, pero este fue muy parecido a algo que ya había leído antes y es lo que jugó en contra.
Por supuesto que igualmente fue impresionante y por eso se lleva sus dos estrellas. Lástima que no pudieron ser más.
