Probably the worst story I've read so far... It was a MESS.
I'm still reading this book but I've been in a reading slump for a while & with how crazy it is at work, I have no time to relax and enjoy anything.. by the time I'm home.. I just want to sleep.. so reading has been a challenge for me. I'm not sure if I will actually finish this book before Christmas or if I even want to keep reading but regardless, I hope to have a better reading year in 2015!
For now, I am going to save this book as "Read"

I really disliked this book, that doesn't mean that everyone will, but I just could not get into it. The stories were predictable and one dimensional. However I do love most of these authors, I believe that many of these stories could have been great if they were longer and less rushed. That is just my opinion and I still think that many people could potentially enjoy this book, it just wasn't for me.

Estaba muy emocionada por este libro cuando salió porque era la oportunidad perfecta para leer mas sobre algunos autores que amo, y tambien conocer nuevos autores que podrían gustarme como Ally Carter y Laini Taylor.

Siempre he tenido un soft spot por las relaciones que comienzan siendo mejores amigos. Me encanto cada palabra de esta historia y sobre todo, ese sentimiento de desesperación mientras esperaba que esos dos se juntaran.
The Lady and The Fox de Kelly Link: 2★
Un poquito extraña para mí. Y no demasiado navideña, pero tiene sus momentos.

La autora hizo un increible trabajo, no solo en dar a conocer personajes en pocas paginas sino tambien hacerlos particularmente singulares. Amé esta historia. Mucho.

I read this book for two reasons:
1) I wanted a winter-themed book in this period
2) It was voted as the book of the month for a book club/group I am part of
I am not a lover of YA books/stories/writers and I usually try to stay away from them, so I won't be the black sheep in a herd of people that love this genre; plus I don't like starting riots. I am not really saying that here is an exception to the rule, but from time to time I just feel like... reading something that is simple and not as challenging. Plus, I haven't read any of the authors present in this antology, so it was a good opportunity to test their writing.
The truth is that, writing short stories, you have some disadvantages on character development and you tend to hurry the endings. Unfortunately, a big part of this was found in what I've read in this book.
(though, as the review will keep going on, you'll see me oscilating between being a calm, clear-minded reviewer and an excited romantic and lover of Christmas)
First of all, some stories I enjoyed too much and others I disliked deeply and it was pretty hard to come to a common point with where my feelings stand. The Christmas atmosphere was present in not many of them, even if most of the authors tried to set it by adding nice actions, happy endings and miraculous solvings, but the true magic of winter was quite absent and I didn't feel like the book managed to remind me of the happier, younger years of my life when Christmas had a meaning.
It was interesting, but it was a little bit weird the way that the genres mixed. Of course, all were still young-adult, but the fact that we were going from a story where the main character is the daughter of Santa Claus to a girl stucked in her dorm during Christmas was... something new, that I am not exactly used to. But, the truth is, that it got my attention. I knew that the stories were relatively short, which helped me bear the horrible ones easier and accept the loss of the good ones earlier. Some stories only showed teenagers that wanted alcohol and parties, but in most cases, the relationship between the characters, or the characters themselves, were nice enough to make it all bearable. Some stories disappointed me, because somehow, between browsing review blogs and watching booktubers, I had some expectations placed upon some of the writers, or on some of the stories, because I knew their topic, but they quite disappointed. I still loved most of the characters and I liked their atitude, or at least they were nice enough not to annoy me.
It's a pretty cute book if you want to read it for the season, because it somehow gets you in the mood in the end, without asking too much of you. I enjoyed reading these short stories, even with their minuses, and it wasn't as bad as my review might have made it, as I still gave the book 3/5 stars, which is the goodreads way of saying that the book was "okay".

You know how it goes with short stories: some are better than others. There were a few in this collection that I'd give a four and a few that I'd give a two, so I averaged it to three for the whole thing. There's a lot of variety among these stories, from realistic to way-out-there fantasy, but they all have some element of romance. The stories by Rainbow Rowell, Matt de la Pena, and Jenny Han were my favorites.

This book has got very different tales so I'll talk about each one of them in separated.
Midnights (by Rainbow Rowell) | 7/5* - It was THAT good. This was my favorite, I loved it so much. The writing is amazing, the story is beautiful and the characters are incredible. This is a best friend's story and I love those, so... Since this was the first one and it became my favorite, I was a bit disappointed with the others.
The Lady and Fox (by Kelly Link) | 2/5* - I really didn't like this tale. I think it was supposed to be cute and all that, but since it was so strange, that didn't even make a difference.
Angels in the Snow (by Matt de la Peña) | 4/5* - When I finished this tale I wasn't sure I had liked it, but I did. It was a good story that started by being very sad and ended up being very cute.
Polaris Is Where You'll Find Me (by Jenny Han) | 1/5* - What a God-awful thing. This tale was very strange and it didn't make any sense, seriously. I hated it.

I think it is an amazing thing that some of the authors managed to write such amazing stories within such a small number of pages and despite all the tales I didn't like, this is a good book.
