This had the potential to be a knock-out absolutely-love-this-story kind of book but it didn’t quite hit the mark with me. I went back and forth on what my final rating would be. I’m sticking with 4 stars because I loved Dev, I loved Charlie, and I loved Dev and Charlie together, but I did not like the reality bachelor that this story focused really heavily on. Things seemed so calculated and scripted that I could not understand why Dev seemed so enamored with the idea of love on this particular show. If it were me, I would have been a jaded employee. But the way Dev and Charlie took care of each other over the course of the whole book was just so sweet. There was great representation in neurodiversity and mental health that I really appreciated reading about. And as Dev and Charlie grew closer and came to understand each other better, you could see the character growth between the two. Also I absolutely adored their chemistry. Take out the reality tv show aspect, and this was a really great book.

3.5 Bachelor stars

This is the Bachelor. No hiding it.

The new "Prince" (aka Bachelor) is a shy, genius, tech millionaire Charlie. He has OCD, anxiety and struggles to connect with people and to accept himself. His handler for the show is Dev, a sociable, cute, gay man, hopelessly romantic but unable to let people see his less happy sides.

This book is representation x100. It has main and side characters dealing with sexuality, mental health, relationships, dreams, workplace etiquette, just you name it- it's there.

I did like this story. I can't say I fell hopelessely in love with it and I did want a bit more in the end, but overall, totally a good rom com.

"Honestly, who even cast last season? Was the network trying to make it a queer party?"
"I do not remember it feeling like a queer party when we were filming it."

A very cute story! It’s quite predictable though. There were some things I surely thought were foreshadowing and were not. I was left disappointed a little but over all really enjoyed this read, esp the ace rep!
