This was pretty fun although the ending got pretty convoluted pretty fast. The biggest takeaway for me was that I wish there was MORE to the story, many characters are introduced with major parts in the story but we don’t learn much about them outside of their use to the MCs. Ultimately I kinda wish there were more parts or that the story was longer because it would have made for a more complete story

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

I won't lie, I've been guilty of watching some of the various paranormal ghost hunting shows - so when I saw the premise of this one I had to pick it up. I immediately enjoyed the cheeky fun that was poked at some of the current and past shows, as well as the shenanigans that follows when the Ghost Bros find themselves on the other side of the veil. This story is full of humor, fun capers and a hilarious battle at the end.

Thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press of the digital review copy of this one.

Oh hi, book friends. How are you? I still haven’t figured out how to get a full day off yet, but am hoping I will figure out how to balance the workload to get a Sunday to myself here and there.

All the work is great for my audiobook consumption, not so much for my ebook and print consumption. I have been doing a good job of keeping up with comics and graphic novels, though, so I will take what I can get.

If you’re looking for a fun and slightly creepy comic series for your Halloween festivities, keep an eye out for Dead Dudes in October. I read it last week and had some chuckles. It follows three dude bro ghost hunters who take on one of the most haunted places in America and fall victim to its ghosts. A year later, their arch rival ghost hunters show up to solve the mystery, and the ghost dudes will have to help them if their spirits can be freed and at least *some* people will make it out alive.

It’s out on October 13th, perfect timing for binging all things creepy.

Dead Dudes by Christopher Sebela and Ben Sears is a goofy little graphic novel about paranormal investigators that become ghosts and want to prove to the world that ghosts exist when their rivals show up to the place their haunting.

The Ghost Bros, which is what the protagonists call their team, are quite clearly modeled after the Ghost Adventures crew while the rivsls give off a Ghost Hunters vibe.

The art is just okay. Not great but not awful. It seems to be purposefully messy. The plot is interesting but gets a bit too odd and convoluted at the end. There's no character growth. Everyone stays the same. The author has bleeps instead of actual swearing which gets quite annoying. Either swear or don't swear. Don't try and be cute and live in the middle.

This was fun but could have been a lot better. The story tried to do to much and it didn't have enough going for it to make up for the shortcomings.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for sending this to me!

Engaging and cynically funny, this is really just the story of some dead dudes.
Of the main trio, I adored Brian, but Shannon really shines too. Please, just fire that poor woman.
It got a bit messy in the middle, but the ending really did it for me.
A good take on ghost-hunting shows.

I read about 1/3 of this before quitting.

I thought this would be a good graphic novel to add to my teen collection, but it’s just too violent. And the cuss words are literally bleeped out. Idk if that’s for the ARC, to make it “for teens,” or what, but it’s more distracting than if the actual words were included.
