My Thoughts On: Angel #4

1. Every moment between Lilith and Fred in this series so far makes me feel too many things. I absolutely love their scenes together.

2. Lilith's involvement in fighting this evil interests me because she is a demon, but I think this line explains best her motivations: "Now see me. And know that darkness can fight evil too." Though she may be a demon, her gifts of seeing the past, present, and future have allowed her to align herself with good even as darkness is her domain. I love this and can't wait to see more Lilith going forward.

3. God, the foreshadowing in this series is so good! Angel doesn't know Buffy yet, but the evil does and has him come face to face with Buffy in this dimension and her trying to stake him. God, it's like this series wants to torture us (and Angel) with what's to come. Even the evil says, "I have seen how she hurts you. How she kills you. The darkness has seen all of it... Remember her face, Redeemer."

4. Oof, there's no better way to torture Angel than to present him with all the women he's tortured and killed. This evil is smart at the very least.

5. Angel definitely needed to phone a friend, and Lilith comes in with the save just in time!

6. Angel taunting the bad guy with different insults reminds me why Angel the Series is actually sometimes a good show to watch. I mean, this gem: "So you're "Uglyface the Dark Master of Phone Apps"?"

7. Angel complaining about how it actually hurts more going back and forth to Hell than being there feels like some foreshadowing, but it completely depends on where this series goes with the Buffy/Angel romance.

8. "We're being hunted. The warrior. The sorceress. The watcher. The Slayer." This line has me so excited! Does this mean we'll see Wesley soon? I feel like we need Wesley.

9. Fred trying to explain what Angel needs to do and the people he needs to gather and Angel just being stuck on the Slayer is a relatable mood.

10. This ending perfectly introducing Gunn makes me even more certain this series is finding its feet. Get through the first two issues, and then you'll find an Angel series that is incredibly enjoyable. Recommended!
