This was fun and quirky, a very easy read but still fascinating! I love the conversations about linguistics and Montell writes compulsively readable non fiction that I enjoy deeply, and this was no different. The organization is well done and easy to understand, and the complex linguistic principles are broken down to make them understandable to a layperson.
Humorous and engaging, kept me interested in linguistics and wanting to learn the entire time.
It's actually kind of depressing here the hope and optimism in this from 6 years ago, knowing how society and language have evolved since then 😩😩😩.
