A great beach read - page-turning and suspenseful, with plot twists until the very end. The characters were very relatable and the issue of racism below the surface is, sadly, a very timely issue and one that needs to be highlighted.

Leia is pregnant after a one-nighter at a comic Con. Her beloved grandma is a mess. And her sister Rachel’s marriage is imploding. Things only get more complicated from there. Fun, quick, absorbing, with all the usual Joshilyn Jackson themes: family secrets, race/gender/class in the South, and biscuits. Can’t miss.

Everything I've read by Joshilyn Jackson has been a treat, so I had high hopes for this book as well. Those expectations were exceeded by leaps and bounds. Jackson excels at voice and character development, and this book, probably more than her others, has a plotline that repeatedly moves the story forward and deeper. It's really quite amazing.

Joshilyn Jackson’s books are like my very favorite comfy blanket. I sink in and wrap myself around the lives of the characters and feel deeply for them. This book was no exception.

Not bad for light fiction reading. I liked the comic book parts and the characters were vivid.

Loved this book! Easy read with plenty of mystery plus some interesting perspectives on race relations!
