I now love nick even more then before.
What raw, amazing feelings in this book. It's about time we get a hot sexy twin especially, being so human and so realistic that it made me all warm and fuzzy inside. We all talk about these kind of guys we miss the opportunity with and think - "ah, he's either married or gay." Isn't that the truth most of the time?
This novella was perfect. Seriously, great! I now look forward to Nick's book even more now.

Wow, this was kind of totally unexpected! Damn Brigid, HOW could you do THIS? Those facts reveald in this novela are sort of shocking and I feel like I have to moan about. Although they are not bad at all and might give the right new kick for the next story I am starving for!

As with all of the other novellas/books in the Elemental series, I devoured this one in one sitting. OMG....I need more already. I don't want to wait until the end of May for Spirit. Actually considering the events of this novella and especially that last line, I really don't want to wait to get Nick's book in 2014. It was such a great read. Quinn still basically annoys me, but I can appreciate her a little more by the end of Breathless, and we'll just have to see how long it lasts. Excellent work, as usual, Brigid Kemmerer.

Let me start by saying that, unlike most "in-between book" novellas, you really HAVE to read Breathless before you read Secret. If you don't read this novella, you will be missing out on a HUGE portion of Nick's overall story, so it's pretty much required reading. So, get your hands on this one! (Mine was right at the end of Spirit, book #2 in the series).
What I LOVED:
Nick's struggle.
Wow! I was really surprised by this book - I had no idea! Nick has always struggled to be the "good" brother - the glue that holds his family together and the one who always does the right thing. So, he doesn't feel like he can tell his brothers his biggest secret - a secret that he's barely been able to accept himself. Nick's struggle is portrayed incredibly realistically and I was once again struck by how well Kemmerer handles issues that are important to many teens today.
All I can say is that once you read this novella, you will be incredibly anxious to get your hands on Secret! I couldn't wait to see what happened with Nick next (so I didn't - I got Secret on NetGalley and read it right away!) 5/5 stars.
