I love the way the book links "my" God (at least i presume it's the Christian one from mention of Yahwe and the holy trinity) and Greek Gods. The idea that they are all linked is intriguing and not something I've ever really considered,
It also tested my knowledge of Greek gods/myths/legends. Thankfully I have a Joshua who could keep me up to speed. It made me start thinking about some of them. Persephone trespassed in the underworld. As a punishment Hades made her his wife and kept her Prisoner. Is that fair? Did the punishment fit the crime? If someone trespassed now should the land owner be allowed to keep them prisoner?
Overall I loved this story. I found it exciting and couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I also found it quite comforting as the love God has for his people shone through.
