This was an interesting read and quite different from your usual "possession" books. What haunted me most was what was going on beneath the surface, the secret the step-sisters were hiding. I think middle grade reader will really enjoy this.

THis was an okay book. It started out interesting but then drifted. I liked the stepsisters and their bond. The writing style was clear and good. However, the vague hinting toward this "big secret" that previously happened quickly got on my nerves. And how it ties into the possession and trying to turn a haunted story into a moral lesson didn't gel for me. Also the religious aspects did nothing for me, especially with how it was portrayed. So this had a few things that just didn't sit right with me, leaving me incapable of fully enjoying this. Was it a bad story? No. It just wasn't my thing.

*I've got this book from NetGalley in exchange of an honest review*

For me it was a very disappointing read. I wasn't massive fan of a writing style, for me it felt a little bit clumsy and carelessly written. I think there should have been made a little more effort in researching how does exorcisms or blessings of a house are performed if you involve the christian church, because those scenes in this book made me cringe. Also there were other scenes in this book, that didn't make any sense. And talking about the characters - well, I didn't like any of them.
Also the ending of this book was too rushed and left a lot of unanswered questions.

Do I recommend it ? No
