This is cross-training for your brain, both sides all lit up by the poems and facts about space. This is how we integrate science, reading, and writing.

Countdown T minus 10 -9 -8 / Seat belts tightening. 7 -6 / Knuckles whitening. 5 -4 / Rockets roaring. 3 -2 -1 / Spaceship soaring! / BLASTOFF .... SpaceIn Out of this World: Poems about Space, Amy E. Sklansky not only shares poetry about all things space-related, but she also provides Facts on every page that are stunning. Do you know what the astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission to the moon took with themin their PPKs? Facts like why we can still see footprints from that first trip to the moon to which planet rotates counterclockwise, can be found on the side notes of this book. Illustrated by Stacey Schuett, this is one of my favorite books on space thatI have ever seen. I hope you pick it up and become as intrigued as I am!
