Cops, vampires, horror, and humour, all wrapped into one book. This was a seriously amazing read. I genuinely loved it!

I am not opposed to strange books, but I just don't think this one was for me. I didn't understand half of what was going on, and it felt like nothing really happened. I didn't connect to any of the characters and the story itself fell really flat for me. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what I just read? Clearly this book worked well with others, but unfortunately we did not get along.

Hard to describe.

A wonderful nostalgic revisit of The Dead’s last tour, complete with vampires, college kid and cops undercover, and secret government psych experiments. Loved ever second

A fun ride of a novel! About 40 pages from the end I realized just how soon it would end and wasn't yet ready to be done with this world. Housely weaves together vampires, FBI agents, a religion studies major in search of adventure and purpose, and drops them into the psychedelic world of a Grateful Dead Tour across the US. It was the perfect book to jumpstart my summer reading and I highly recommend it.

A thoroughly unique take on the vampire mythology set against the backdrop of the Deadhead and drug countercultures. Feels more like a crime/noir novel than the traditional sex-and-violence vampire story (no sex, little violence in this one, which for me, was a good thing.) It reminded me of some of the trippier episodes of the X-files and will certainly appeal to anyone who loves the Grateful Dead.
