What a beautiful accompaniment to one of the greatest and most important TV shows ever made - Derry Girls.
This book itself is frequently featured/referred to in the show, especially early on, and contains many pictures and little extra bits of information about the plot and characters (letters, school reports, lists, notes, etc.) which enhance the viewing of the show even further. And of course it offers even more insight into the life and thoughts of Erin Quinn, the character around whom the show centres.
I would advise you to watch at least the first two series of Derry Girls before reading Erin’s Diary, as I feel as though you need to in order to fully appreciate the book and all its references. The book covers the time between the first episode of the first series to the last episode of series 2.
Thank you, Lisa McGee for this amazing book. The reason why I didn’t give it the full 5 stars? We need a sequel: an Erin’s Diary for series 3!!!
