It’s almost creepy how often I’ve seen the show by now… I had literally been waiting for this book since first word got out.

I specifically got the audiobook (for like €25 that is insane—) narrated by the one and only Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Erin Quinn). I think I read it in a day sometime in 2020. It was so fucking funny. Ahhhh!

I also had to buy the ebook because I could not for the life of me understand a word Saoirse said, lol.

i found my initial review (on another site):

What a cracker book!

(*insert me fan girling for 10 paragraphs*)

The book itself is more of a "copy" of the show. There is not much new information, but it was still pretty fun to read. The Irish vocabulary also had me fucking rolling! Though I'd wish there was more stuff behind the show… still loved it though.

An absolutely cracker book. I laughed, a lot. Obviously you will only appreciate it if you’ve watched Derry Girls, but as TV show tie-ins go, this was class. I will stop with the Northern Irish colloquialisms now.

This was a fun read! The diary follows the first and second season of Derry Girls and is enriched with notes and lists among other writings by Erin, her friends and family members. Erin’s self-absorbed character is depicted very accurately 😃 If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll love this book (and if you haven’t seen it yet, I STRONGELY recommend doing so)!
