taylor jenkins reid u need to stop breaking my heart.
this made me reflect so much on my current relationship and how i would envision myself making the same decisions as emma.

on the one hand i feel as though emma didn’t give herself enough time to get over jesse and live her life through the memory of him - she just grieved for about 3 weeks and then moved back home to mumma and dadda where she has everything nice and comfortable and luckily finds herself falling in love with her childhood friend.

it does come across as a bit silly and i just think this would definitely not happen in real life - if you truly loved someone you wouldn’t even stand the thought of being with anyone else. granted, she thought he was dead and it was grief rather than moving on from a breakup but i think emma got luckier than the average person would and if she hadn’t know sam then she would’ve been happy when jesse returned.

also how does one survive out at sea for 3 and a half years malnourished and without social interaction and come back and manage to speak to people with no flaws in his speech and almost as though everything is back to perfection.

^^^my only negative things to say about this book, it’s honestly hard to hate it because i love this author so much and no matter what imperfections she has in her plot i will still plan to devour every book of hers.

i did like the romance between her and sam however. the cats

I've recently loved other TJR books, and I was sucked into listening to this one due to the upcoming movie adaptation (and a friend's review saying it was her favorite of TJR's books). I'm sure it's just me, but this whole scenario was stressful. While I still generally like her writing, I found myself just wanting this one to be over.
