Fantastically written and a great mix of real world problems with fantasy elements. Juno really treats the trans item skilfully! My big downside of this book was the lack of character descriptions, spend a whole afternoon figuring out what everyone looked like

I liked a few things about Her Majesty’s Royal Coven - nice pacing, political commentary that was essentially a middle finger to JKR (which I loved), and interesting lore. I think the writing was a little underdeveloped and felt very to the point, everything was over explained and nothing was left up for me to figure out. I also struggled with the number of POVs. I found it a bit hard to differentiate between all four, which could have been a narrator problem, I didn’t listen to the version where Nicola Coughlan narrated…but I also think this could have benefited from not having multiple POVs. They all felt pretty surface-level to me. I think the idea is there, but for me the execution fell pretty flat for me. It took me a few hours to finish the last hour because I kept pausing it to do other things. Unfortunately, this just didn’t work for me.
