It was an alright read. Interesting enough case and much more in the style of Conan Doyle than some other pastiches I've read, but it just wasn't good or quite engaging enough for me. No real reason other than that. Just shows that writing style isn't everything.

Wow, was this quick. I couldn't believe that I was about halfway through at my first status update. The backstory was brilliant and it really rang with ACD-canon, at least the sort of case that Watson would have written about. Along with that, Holmes and Watson were wonderfully in character. The mystery itself was very good and I sort of saw it coming who the Man From Hell would be, but I was still slightly surprised based off the narrative in the will. I'm really glad I read this and I'm definitely going to look into more by this author.
