This was a great middle grade book that kept me interested throughout. But, I do love dinosaurs and dystopian worlds.

A very well-written and well-imagined world. It was too low on action to hold my son's interest, but I'm keen to read the sequel myself.

Perfect for middle grade readers. The only problem is that the books ends abruptly without any resolution. You have to read the second book to understand the story ark.

I read this as a read-aloud to my son. It's a fun book!

There are scenes that are particularly violent. Guns pointed at children. Innocent people shot and killed. I’m not sure that this book is appropriate for kids 8-12. Maybe if they already play Fortnight, they’d be used to it?

Good book. I would highly recommend as a read-aloud for families with kids between 8-14. We enjoyed it,as we typically do dystopian books. However, it ends abruptly. Have the second book ready to go.
