I think it’s a little confusing because i wasnt quite sure the point of the story or where it was going. Holden is interesting. Reading it knowing the historical context also made it interesting.

I enjoyed the portrayal of loneliness, isolation, and hypocrisy within Holden. I found certain scenes to be relatable while others were completely shameless and vulgar in tone. I am aware that it is meant to read like a teenager is speaking, and we, the readers, are meant to perceive it as distasteful, repetitive, and uncreative, and that's what pulls the book together. But, I can not get over the dozens to hundreds of times Holden says 'goddamn'. It genuinely infuriated me.

Se puede hacer pesado a ratos, pero al terminar de leerlo te das cuenta de por qué se estudia como una obra maestra de la literatura en los institutos estadounidenses. Volvería a leerlo.

Though I'd long ago heard of this book, I never really knew what it was about. After researching banned books, I decided to read it. It was very entertaining and made me laugh out loud in several parts. One more off the bucket list. :)

This was my first time reading this and I didn't like it. I am not sure how I got away with no reading this in high school. I can understand how a teenager may be able to relate a bit but I just couldn't.
