OMG - I don't know when I was last touched by a book as much as I was by this one. The hero and heroine are older and come together again after 20 years and a lifetime of experience. Twenty years ago, these two were in love but a scandal happened that cause him to be forced to marry her best friend and flee to Europe. She is the daughter of a Duke and he was a nobody but now has become a Marquess. His wife has died and he has come home to claim his title. Instead of facing the scandal and the Ton, she runs away to Bath and becomes a courtesan.
While reading this story I kept hearing the old Gloria Gaynor song "I Will Survive". Finna has done what she thought needed to be done and has become famous for helping men with their politicac ambitions and now she's ready to retire.
This is the strongest heroine that I've ever read and when she finally gets her Happily Ever After it is well worth it.
I received n advanced copy of this book for review.
