Thanks to the prefatory notes to this omnibus edition, I now know that O. C. L. T. is the acronym for "Orphic Crisis Liaison Team – O.C.L.T. – affectionately known as 'Occult'". When I read a book, I read the entire book - well maybe not the whole table of contents, but all the notes that precede the narrative and follow it. I find that authors, editors, and other introducers give away bit of information, not necessarily spoilers, that add to the understanding and appreciation of the text. Even the dedication and 'thank you' sections can be enlightening.

David Niall Wilson and Aaron Greenberg, the two authors whose works are contained in the omnibus, have very different voices but complement each other well. Each has contributed a short and a long work that build the world of O.C.L.T.

BROUGHT TO LIGHT, by Aaron Rosenberg, doesn't specifically reference O.C.L.T. but does introduce an important character to the organization.

THE PARTING, by David Niall Wilson, also introduces important characters, Rebecca York and Wendell "Mack" Macklemore, who are as different as two characters can be, but together they make up the team that will express the need for an organization, made up of more than just the two of them, that will become O.C.L.T.

THE TEMPLE OF CAMAZOTZ is a short work by David Niall Wilson that teams Wendell "Mack" Macklemore with Geoffrey Bullfinch; it’s the tech guy teamed up with the folklorist tackling a series of horrendous deaths in Mexico.

INCURSION, by Aaron Rosenberg, is the book that brings O.C.L.T. into being as a formal organization.

There is much to be said for buying the omnibus edition. The best reason is that you don't have to wait for the next book to come out, it's right there waiting for you.
