I hoped that this book would provide more information into the symbolic effect of Virginia Woolf's application of Renaissance allusions and intertextual references in her texts, but it was more of a tracking and chronology of her engagement with specific texts, what she admired about them, what she criticised and how they manifested in her novels.
I skimmed sections about "The Years" or "Between the Acts" and other books I haven't read yet because I think I can revisit these sections and was mainly interested in commentary on "Orlando"
