If you're looking for a fast-paced, low-angst romance, this is it! The main characters, Clara and Ian, are delightful in this enemies-to-lovers story with plenty of hi-jinks and mishaps. Augusta Reilly keeps the tone light and comedic, with interesting, fleshed-out characters. 4.5 stars.

**I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book.**

This was a quick and fun read! It’s perfect for a pool day or plane ride. Miscommunication/instant love aren’t my favorite but I still found this book enjoyable. The whole book takes place over 24 hours and our main characters have similar background stories. There were a few details that took me out of the story but not everybody notices that kind of thing and it wasn’t make or break for me. Overall, this is a great feel good book that is sure to get you out of a reading slump or just brighten up your day!

Big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Clara and Ian. Less than 24 hour romance starting with our MC mistaking his car for her own. Connecting over parents who do not believe love is more than transactions and looks, they fall in love over a whirlwind day. There were parts I laughed. I recommend as a Kindle Unlimited!

Thank you Rhapsodic Press and GetRedPR for this charming, perfect summery beach read. I read this in one day on my beach vacation and it was a great way to enjoy the very hot days where a little more rest and indoor time was a good action plan. The story is funny, has a deft light touch that keeps the pace fast but without sacrificing fun character and narrative development, and the humor was most welcome as a way to break up my love for thrillers and heavy themes in recent reads. I definitely recommend Words on Candy Hearts for the many readers like me who want to have a quick escapist light read in the summer or just for a rainy, or too hot, weekend afternoon.
Thank you again Rhapsodic Press for the ebook copy!

I'm sorry to say this book was not for me. I found it jaded, ridiculous and juvenile. The "jokes" calling Clara a "hooker" and referring to her "big rack" were made for frat bros. Other "jokes" referring to OJ Simpson and laughing at Ian's hearing loss were odd and off-putting. Ian and Clara's adventures take place over several hours so it was very much insta-love and that's not a genre I enjoy. Very disappointed in this book.

Thanks Get Red PR and NetGalley for the advance copy. This is my honest opinion.

A funny, forced proximity, road trip romp!

Like Clara and Ian's relationship, this book got off to a rough start but found it's stride about 20% in!
That first 20% was jarring with ugly language but then I realized these are two really hurt people, raised by life hardened, cynical people. I think Reilly was showing raw people and not rom-com characters, at least not yet.
The rest is a series of almost-to-disastrous-to-be-funny-but-still-funny events, an unwilling roadtrip with great banter and cupcake texting, and even a jail scene.

The only thing that bugged me was at the end with Clara's way of communicating, or rather starting a conversation midway- assuming the other person knows the topic- but again, that's just her way of talking.

Clara has been raised to think a man would only love her for her looks, but she’s never believed it - until her fiancé dumps her for gaining 15 pounds. By contrast, Ian’s billionaire father has raised him to “go for the hottie”, since he believes women are only interested in his money. Ian himself has trouble believing that, until his fiancée leaves him over signing a pre-nup. When Clara and Ian accidentally meet, hilarity ensues and maybe even a chance at true love.

This book was a quick and fun read! Going into it, I was expecting a regular rom-com but I found it be very unique. Maybe it was Clara and Ian’s easy banter (their misunderstandings had me laughing out loud multiple times), that made them so endearing. The entire book takes place basically within a day’s time period which I thought was unique, and made for an easy summer read.

Thank you to Augusta Reilly and Getredpr for the ARC! “Words on Candy Hearts” releases July 26th.

I loved the banter and the comedy, but sadly the rest was not my thing. Most of the scenes are taking in a car with them talking. Also, many of the things said between the characters were so over the top that it didn't feel believeable.

They fall in love way too fast, less than 24 hours fast which took away some of the believability for me. Still a pretty fun, cute and fast enemies to lovers read. Not the best book I've ever read but was still enjoyable. Full Disclosure: won a free kindle copy in a giveaway.
