Well, I can't say it was uninteresting, but I expected more out of this, with such authors as Moore and McLaren ? I know it's only the beginning of the series, but my library only has these two.

The main character, Doll, looks like a guy dressed as a woman, another looks like a girl who pretends to be a guy, there is a gay couple thrown in there occasionally, weird and cruel old women, a society on the verge of apocalypse, a fashion-house that seems to be ruling the city, the world is about to disappear into a nuclear winter and there is a distant war going on.

Apparently, the world is reaching its end but the only thing people are worried about ? Appearances. Fashion. And fashion is represented by Celestine (a man) who draws fashion that doesn't correspond to the seasons out there - he limits himself to spring and autumn !

Yes, there is deeper meanings underneath all this, I get it, it was interesting as a study of characters and the human race in general - and I read these two volumes without wanting to stop, but I'm not sure I'll want to grab volume 3.

The pace was rather slow at the beginning, I already knew what Celestine looked like before I saw his face (it was predictable) and... well, it's a dark and gritty world and it's not something I recommend to read at the end of the day when you're really tired lol !
