Stolen Legacy was an excellent spin on kelpie lore, as well as an excellent spin of one of the most scarring fairy tales I read as a child. Seriously, do not watch the animated version of The Goose Girl. Read this novella instead. Even if you don't know anything about the source material, this tale is absolutely worth reading!

This was a lovely whimsical little fairytale, with a kelpie as a main character - an underrated mythical creature in my opinion! It only took about fifteen minutes to read, so if you're looking for something short, sweet and atmospheric make sure to pick it up.

One of the things I was worried about when I started this novella was that I wouldn't be able to connect with the characters in a meaningful way that made me care about them. However, this did not end up being a challenge at all! I quickly connected with Jentelle and Falada and loved reading this sweet story about them. I definitely would have read a longer novel about them and this story, but I still loved this little novella for what it was.

I am voluntarily reviewing this after receiving a free copy.

I love this story! It is a adapted version of an old fairy tale but I like this version much better than the original. I highly recommend it and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
