This book was so so beautiful, krasivaya , despite being the ugliest of stories; it tells the story of a Lithuania family during WWII and the hope that they clung onto. That the most misunderstood people turn out to be so so kind. I'm in pain.

Tragic, heart-wrenching, gut-twisting, and more.
I randomly picked this for an English project but I ended up loving it.

Well-written and engaging but very depressing. Human beings are horrible.

This book was hard to read. My heart felt heavy with all the suffering. So much suffering. Even though it was hard to hear, it was a story worth listening to. A story that needed to be told. This book demonstrates the power of love and hope.

Tiem žmonėm, kuriem nepatiko ši knyga yra arba mažvaikiai arba žmones, kurie neturi empatijos ir nekenčia savo namų.
