This is a lovely book about second chances and self-discovery, all wrapped in a small Maine town and an Italian kitchen. There are people who are broken from all kinds of things, but slowly, and with the help of people who they come to love, they begin to discover what it means to heal and hope. I loved the extra ingredient in the recipes - it was a just right amount of magic.

This is a nice story, I like the characters, I can relate to the step-mother type feelings. I like the grandma-mom-daughter relationships. Love the food and friendship. I liked this book more than I expected to based off of my history with this genre. Glad I read it and will probably pass the book to a friend or my mom.

4.5 stars. There were a few typos in the book which made some of the sentences confusing. Other than that, a great story. Cooking, romance, friendship, finding yourself....so good.

It's was cute and a fun read, but it's not the greatest. I wished some of the characters had more depth I guess.

I have had this book for a couple of years now and just now read it. I don't know why it took me so long since this was a magical book and got me thinking about why I make the decisions I do.

This was a lovely quick read. A contemporary novel that has such a great storyline I often caught myself smiling while reading.

One personal note - don't read on an empty stomach. The description of the cooking they do in this story will make you hungry! :)

A solid three stars for a sweet, romantic story where most everyone is nice and the setting sounds beautiful.

It started off weak, a smidge hokey, and a 'too-perfect' reason for Holly to return to the Blue Crab Island. I'm glad I continued on as it went better. A lot of it is that Chick Lit, beach read, easy predictable romance, with everyone having a happy ending.... and that is wonderful if you're wanting that.

I give it more 3.5 stars and rounded up because it got better after the first few chapters.
