I think it was pretty cool. The scary stories really spooked me a bit. I loved the illustrations. But the sentences can get quite long at times. It seems to make me nostalgic for a past I never had. Hahahaha! This is also the first Charles Dickens book I ever finished considering I tried to read "A Christmas Carol" once and immediately gave up after three days.
I think the book was good enough to make me hope for a good Christmas this year.

I’ve realized that I do not care much for the nonfiction of Dickens. Part of the Christmas story collection of the famous author, The Christmas Tree starts with a look at the tree and he goes back to childhood memories. The narration and style is tedious and dry. I did not really enjoy it and I think I will pass on the rest of the Christmas collection. Saving my energy and Dickens tolerance to read his masterpieces in 2021.

Not one of his best. There are some delightful descriptions and reminiscences but in general it seems uninspired.
