This is for The High Hex, I couldn't find a listing for it separately. More of a novella in length, and quite funny. The ending was a bit abrupt.

Both pieces are very much of their time and haven't aged well. The Rim Gods is a decent space yarn, very colonialist in its orientation, and a bit repetitive, since it's made of several stories strung together. The protagonist is likeable enough to make even the last story of the four, a rather weak fantasia, almost bearable. The High Hex is just awfully strange, falling all over itself with how hip and funny it's meant to be. It tries to subvert stereotypes but largely fails since it displays no particular interest or curiosity in the lives of the marginalized people it seeks to portray.
