This book is a compilation of essays by adults about their experiences in nature as children or with their children. In addition to teaching the importance of exposure to natural environments for a child's developmental needs, and exploring the deepening of relationships through memories made outside together, I appreciated the stories of healing that occurred when children (or adults) experiencing loss found peace in their connection with nature. Some essays are superb; others less so (I recommend you skip those so as to get through the book), but it's a compelling and worthy read overall.
