The concept was fantastic. The art was cool.

I loved all the references to lyrics and song titles.

And the urban legends? I did have to look up mudshark. OMG.

But, sometimes, I think it can be difficult to bring script and art together to ensure readers understand what‰ЫЄs going on.

I mean - you don‰ЫЄt have to completely get everything from the get-go. Sometimes the mystery is part of the fun.

But when you‰ЫЄre trying to figure out what‰ЫЄs going on - why are these people doing that? Who are those people? It can get a tad tedious. Often, it‰ЫЄs telling 2 different stories at the same time (in the same panel), and even though the lettering is always different, it‰ЫЄs not always easy and obvious to follow them. Sometimes there was too much going on - the groupies, the dragon, the snitch, the game, that driver, the black magicks‰Ы_ A second read-through didn‰ЫЄt help a whole lot.

And I can‰ЫЄt tell if volume 2 is even out. I wanted to use it to try and figure out this stuff!

A great idea well-executed with the caveat that it's a tad one-dimensional and doesn't crank things up to 11. An intriguing premise that will trigger your love of conspiracy theories and especially those music-related theories but it's just not quite good enough.

I might check out the second volume but we'll have to wait and see.
