Things are changing. The world for supernaturals is coming together, yet falling apart. The team they've created at the Watchtower has created new bonds between humans, shifters, and vampires. They had and still have common enemies to fight against. There's also separation inside these groups because of the alliance created. Some thing this should not happen. Are they stronger working together or keeping to themselves? Will the friendships created across barriers stay strong and help?

Evy has grown so much as a person. She's seeing things are not what they were told as Hunters. And she's growing to love the friendships she's created and the new ones that are just starting. Wyatt. Oh Wyatt. He's grown into so much more and learning to trust his new side with Evy and others. He's even taken on a few young friends as family.

Evy does what she can to help all and still takes a beating. There's so much happening here and it feels like in such a short time.

We are left with hints of help to clear up all that's happening with the Fae at the end of the book. I have the next book and will be picking it up to finish out the series.

3.5 stars. I'm glad Kelly Meding decided to continue self-publishing this series, and I had been waiting anxiously for the release of this installment. While the plot was action-packed and the writing was fluid, it felt a little like more of the same.

But before you read this one, it helps to read the free "Pride Before Fall" for some backstory - http://paranormal.suvudu.com/2009/11/still-dead-on-suvudu-the-dreg-files-day-1.html.

There's a bad guy--this time a Bengal tiger--who has something that the Watchtower desperately needs. And the goblins are still there, having the occasional skirmish with the team. Close friends get hurt and/or die. (The latter socked me in my stomach.) But very little happened to move the plot along to the next phase. Is this what Evy's story will always be about - a race against a new bad guy?

I'm glad Evy and Wyatt were strong and together again, and Milo, Marcus, Tybalt, and Gina were also around. But I really missed Phinneas, who was absent until the very end.

I did see a few editing errors, but for a self-published book, this was pretty well done. I hope we get enough interest in this series to continue the story!

This is one of those series that you can not help but want to read more of after you have started it. Make sure to start from book 1. There is way to much back story that you would miss starting anywhere else. Some of the books have been better than others but put them all together and they all make for a great read. REQUIEM FOR THE DEAD will be the first in the series to be self-published by Kelly Meding.

It is hard to imagine the Evy that woke from the dead in book 1. She has changed and grown so much since then. The events that have made her who she is are pretty gruesome and so unfair but she is still fighting strong for herself and those she cares about. Wyatt and Evy continue to grow in their ever-changing relationship. They always seem to have something on one of their ends that makes them pause but they managed to push through everything and arrive at the same place during book 5. This series always brings death, I was saddened by those we lost. Some members were hit harder than others with lost loved ones but everyone grieved just the same. Phineas is still gone searching for others of his kind. I miss him, he is needed and I hope he comes back soon.

I have lots of questions that I need answered after reading REQUIEM FOR THE DEAD. I am glad that Kelly has decided to keep the series going by self-publishing and I look forwards to reading what comes next because this series is far from done in my mind.

I feel like this one got a bit muddled in the middle... Need some clarity, need more movement/answers in the overall picture... but I'm still reading this series. 3.5

I couldn't wait for book #5 and even better - glad to see I will have to eagerly wait for #6! A few heart wrenching places in the story but I don't want to give anything away. All more proof how you get sucked into these stories & get attached to the characters. Nice job, Kelly & Thanks!

There is certainly more story to tell, please let this not be the end! I'll beg if I have to. I love the dark world Meding created, and she doesn't pull her punches when it comes to the shit she puts her characters through. Oy. O_O
