Proof that not everything that kids will enjoy is "well written."
Plot: totally predictable and rather weak but filled with lots of hills and valleys for the kids.
Visual: On the one hand, some of the words chosen to be different from the main font were well chosen and added to the text, usually the ones with movement. In an effort to have words on every page like this though, you end up with a bunch that don't need emphasis and it is just a distraction.
So, overall, I'm not a fan but I can see why the kids might be.

It was okay. I was a bit lost at times. And I really think Thea needs to reflect on the way she treats Geronimo.

I am also rereading these books for nostalgic purposes. I'm fully convinced that these books got me into mystery adventure books as a kid. Also, as someone who loves cheese and puns, this series surely does the trick. I'm so happy I decided to jump back into some childhood fun!

It appears that this was translated from Italian and I am hoping that is why there was poor writing at times. However, it is getting my 2nd grader to read, so I am happy.

My 6 year old son loves this. Would have read faster but we lost it for a while. Jumped right into book 2.
