It was fine. You get more information about some of the side characters, but the entire plot of this volume is the first part of the fencing tournaments to decide who will make the team. Lots of rehashing the same struggles for the main two characters, and juggling of all the side characters.
I think I'm good to stop here? I had a hankering for a Check Please! kind of series, and this isn't doing it for me. Might come back to it, or just go for Pacat's new series instead.

I think this series has a lot of really fun and interesting characters, and this volume is where that really blossoms in a way the first volume wasn't capable of. Loving it so far!
