It's only a few chapters. The entire series would be a short novel.

Whoa. Surprisingly dark and good, very dystopian.
I am not happy by how short these books are but I am happy to keep reading to see where this goes!
Might be some triggers (self-harm) and general end of the world despair and shenanigans. You know.

End of the world adventure, Vale is the main character and its told thru her POV. The dark elves are just the icing on the cake after man destroys itself for this world ending story.

3 stars all for the world building and character development. Their relationship was too weird for me

Wow for a Novella this really threw you into the thick of things......

For a year the world has been thrown into Darkness, while dark elves scour what remains of the earth after Disease and plague.....

Vale, with a small bunch of survivors, are making their way through Europe...

The way Quinn Blackbird describes things is incredible.... I felt i was there running for my life along with Vale..... Yea brilliant 5 ster i will be picking up the next book when i renew my KU!

I loved this fast pace, world building dark Fae story. April may come across as weak but she’s a survivor and is made to become a slave for the Dark Fae Prince when her family fails to deliver their payment. The character build is as well formed as the world around them. This is a quick release.

Review of the whole series, tiny bit of spoilers ahead.

I am not sure when the last time was that I read a book with such an absolutely unlikeable main character.
I enjoyed the bloodthirsty dark fae more than the childish, selfish human.
I liked how the author showed that Vale has a seriously dark side. That was really good. Bit too edgy with the dark drawings, black clothes and cutting. The killing people because they annoyed her should have been enough.

But everything else? The audacity this girl has the whole time in the book. The stupid questions the even more stupid actions. Unbelievable.
Seriously I am angry after finishing the series. If I had gotten just this novella, instead of the bundle, I would have DNFed it.

Why am I giving this still 4*?
Great world building.
It is really really dark and you can literally feel the desperation of the humans. You can feel the cruelty of the Fae. And that makes it even worse that the main character is so.. dumb. Survived basically the end of humanity, went through a shit ton of bad stuff... And still thinks it's a good idea to throw a knife at a Fae or generally threaten them. She nearly got whipped to death and learns absolutely nothing form it. Nothing. This isn't bravery, this is plain stupidity mixed with a death wish. And all the childish behaviour holy shit. How can you even write a character like that.

Really I am angry right now and not in a good way. And if I hadn't read this series in the wrong order, I wouldn't touch this authors books again. But I did and Dark Fae: Black World is better.

2.5 stars. It was a very, very quick read that leaves you on a cliffhanger. I felt it was rather well-written despite how short of a book it was.
